The Parish Communities of Church of the Holy Family and St. Columba Church will be hosting our 1st annual J.O.Y. Ride — a Motorcycle Benefit Ride to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Help us help children with life-threatening medical conditions–and have fun doing it! Following the 9:30 am Mass at Church of the Holy Family in Hebron, CT on Sunday, June 11, this charity run will be followed by a BBQ and raffle.
All proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish® Connecticut Foundation, whose mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, enriching the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
The 2017 J.O.Y. Ride was our inaugural annual charity motorcycle run founded on the mantra of Christianity:
The path to joy is putting
Because children bring so much joy to the world, our partnership with Make-A-Wish for this year’s event was a no-brainer.
The day of the J.O.Y. Ride, between 10:30 to 11:00 am and 1:00 to 2:00 pm, children are welcome to climb into the bed of the official Make-A-Wish truck and have their pictures taken. The truck will be stationed in front of the church.
The J.O.Y. Ride will kick off with an 11:00 blessing of the bikes, singing of the National Anthem and 11:15 departure from the Church of the Holy Family, 185 Church Street, Hebron CT 06248.
Kids can climb on the Make-A-Wish truck from 10:30 - 11:00
The route will take us through the beautiful country roads in the Northeast corner of CT, returning back to the Church of the Holy Family at approximately 12:30. Two state troopers will accompany the group.
Lunch, entertainment, and a raffle will take place at the Church of the Holy Family following the run. You don’t need to ride a motorcycle or participate in the run to join the after-party. Entertainment will be provided by Sunshine Entertainment’s DJ Chris Hookie.
